It literally serves as a "bridge" between your database and your end-user browser. Now, without more ado, let’s get into detail.
A few words about our architecture
Jet Admin is a SaaS frontend application hosted on Jet Admin’s side and accessible from any browser. Jet Admin consists of two crucial compounds: Jet Bridge and the Jet Admin web application. Jet Bridge is installed locally and helps Jet Admin exchange information with your application’s database. The Jet web application supports the communication between the user and Jet Bridge. Thanks to this approach, your private data always stays safe and remains invisible to our servers.
So how did we come up with this architecture? Our earlier product, Django Jet, was an open source solution just like ActiveAdmin, Sonata Admin, or RailsAdmin. What we realized two years after its launch was that such admin panels lack flexibility and scalability. They only work with one programmatic language and have their limitations when it comes to interface development. In other words, you simply won’t be able to add custom extensions or adjust the interface as your company grows.

Integrating Jet Admin with your project requires installing only one component - Jet Bridge. Jet Bridge is compatible with all kinds of application frameworks and software architectures running on one or multiple SQL and MongoDB databases. Your data is safe with us
Jet Admin uses a two-step authentication system to connect you to our server to interact with the UI configuration and to your Admin API to get access to your application data. Each of these steps is backed by a JWT authentication where the secret to access to the UI configuration is given by Jet Admin and the secret to interact with your Admin API is chosen freely by you and is never disclosed to anyone.
